Who stands behind these pages

The Highveld Board desk, and not a personal byline. Three jobs are done on every page and they are kept apart: one person assembles the page from the measured base, a second decides whether it may be published at all, a third re-reads every figure against the source it came from. The split is the part that matters — whoever writes a broker page cannot change a number in it.

We do not print their names, and that is a deliberate choice rather than an omission. A name and a face you have no way to check are a claim we cannot support, and everything else here is built on the opposite rule: a figure with no source does not get published. So the page is signed by the desk that is answerable for it, and what the desk may and may not do is written out below.

Corrections are the fastest way to reach a person: corrections@brokerboardza.pages.dev. Say which page and which figure. Editorial questions go to editorial@brokerboardza.pages.dev.

A score is the weighted mean of six axes, each on the same 0–5 scale, counted over the axes that have data. A broker with nothing measured gets no score rather than a low one. An axis with no data is dropped and the remaining weights are renormalised; below 55% of the weight the score is withheld and the reason is printed in its place.

A score may be shown on a card from any sufficient weight, but it enters a RANKING only with reviews, cost. Without a price a firm scores high precisely by not being measured on cost, and we have watched that put equity houses with no round-turn figure at the top of a brokers table.

Every figure is recalculated for all 104 brokers in the South Africa base at once, from the same axes, so a page cannot be written around a number. 81 of them publish a round-turn price; the rest are left unpriced and the blank is visible on the page.

What the desk refuses to do

Set a score by hand. There is no field for it. A number on a card is the output of the formula above, and the only way to move it is to change what is measured.Publish a figure without its source. A number we cannot point at is worse than a blank, because a blank is honest. This is why cells on these tables are empty rather than filled with an estimate.Pass a worldwide figure off as a local one. Leverage and minimum deposits are set by the regulator of the country; a global 1:3000 would otherwise put a broker first in a high-leverage ranking for a market that caps it. Such values are marked as group-wide and kept out of the ranking.Publish a ranking that rests on too few brokers. A table of three is a list, not a ranking.Let a partner link move anything. Some links here are partner links; they change neither a score nor a position, and the one editorial pick on the front page is labelled as what it is.
